Transmission Components

The bicycle drive train is the group of components designed to transmit the power from the riders legs to the rear wheel. Normally a chainring with cranks is connected with a chain to a cog on the rear wheel. When the rider pushes the cranks then the bike moves.

The basic idea hasn't changed that much over the years as it's surprisingly efficient. Most of the power going through the cranks is transmitted to the road. However, the sheer number of available components to fit the drive train can be quite overwhelming.
